Hi. I’m Carrie.
I am a holistic counselor supporting people to slow down and cultivate self-compassion. I create spaces for folks to simplify their thoughts and self-soothe. I offer trauma-informed care as my clients draw on inner resources and natural gifts for deeper connection with themselves and the world.
The heart of my work is helping folks stay with, accept, and trust themselves.
I work with clients struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, critical thoughts, and unresolved trauma. I use evidence-based tools for phobias, trauma resolution, and anxiety. I support folks actively engaged in addiction recovery.
My approach is practical, intuitive, and creative. I hold a warm and compassionate space for my clients to know themselves more completely.
“Having known Carrie for many years both
professionally and personally, I cannot speak
highly enough of how gifted she is at her work.
Her dedication, integrity, wisdom, warmth and
grace are the golden threads of her healing
arts. A shining gem of a human being
through and through.”
I’m a white woman born and raised in the US. This matters because whiteness informs how those of us who are white see the world. I am committed to investigating and dismantling my own internalized white supremacy as ongoing, lifelong work. I know this dismantling is essential to be with folks in a way that facilitates integrity, equity, and healing on an individual and collective scale.
I use she/her pronouns. My people came to this land from Ireland,
Portugal, and Hungary. I seek to know and understand my roots as a
path to healing myself.
My training includes a master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University and a master's degree in Women’s Spirituality from New College of California. I received my certifications in clinical hypnotherapy, emotional freedom technique,
and reiki from HCH Institute in Lafayette, CA.
I came to this work through my own experience with anxiety. During my last year of college almost 20 years ago, anxiety and fear began to fill my days. I was scared and lonely even when surrounded by people who loved me. I spent a year not talking about what was going on inside because I didn't think anyone would understand. After graduation, with the help of my family, I went to my first therapist. Within twenty minutes of sharing my experience, it was clear she understood what was happening with me. I felt so much relief in being seen with compassion and understanding. She reassured me, supported me, and guided me. After a few months, I began to feel like myself again.
This experience changed my life. Within six months, I was headed west to begin a graduate program in counseling and diving deep into my process of self-exploration and healing. Since then, I have supported hundreds of individuals as they get to know themselves, meet challenges, and navigate transitions.
I would love to hear from you.
I see clients in my Alameda office, on the phone, and over Zoom.
