HI. I'M CARRIE.
I want to live in a world where compassion is valued, uniqueness is celebrated, and relaxation is medicine.
I work with many people struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, overwhelm, critical thoughts, and unresolved trauma.
My approach is practical, intuitive, and creative. I hold a warm and compassionate space for my clients to know themselves more completely.
I love to lead groups and lectures focused on relaxation, self-soothing, guided meditation, growth mindset, and creativity.
My training includes a master's degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University and a master's degree in Women’s Spirituality from New College of California. I have had the privilege of studying with pioneering, creative women in embodied feminist scholarship including Judy Grahn, Luisah Teish, Dianne Jenett, Miri Hunter Huruach, and Vicki Noble. I received my certifications in clinical hypnotherapy, emotional freedom technique, and reiki from HCH Institute in Lafayette, CA.
I want to live in a world where we embrace our humanness together.
I first began to embrace my humanness seventeen years ago in my early twenties. During my last year of college, anxiety and fear began to fill my days. I spent a year not talking about what was going on inside because I didn't think anyone would understand. My anxiety grew until it overwhelmed my system. I was scared and lonely even when surrounded by people who loved me.
After graduation, with the help of my family, I went to my first therapist. Within twenty minutes, it was clear she understood what was happening with me. I felt so much relief in being seen with compassion and understanding. She reassured me, supported me, and guided me. After a few months, I began to feel like myself again.
This experience changed my life.
Within six months, I was headed west to begin a graduate program in counseling and diving deep into my own process of self-exploration and healing.
Since then, I have supported hundreds of individuals as they get to know themselves, meet challenges, and navigate transitions.
When we allow ourselves to be exactly as we are, we allow ourselves to be in our power. Facing ourselves honestly, we have agency.
Sometimes it's hard to face what is because we feel overwhelm, shame, or self-judgment, but as we stop resisting our experience, we become more connected to ourselves. As we become more connected to ourselves we can make room for ALL parts of ourselves to exist. We can allow ourselves to be human.
“Having known Carrie for many years both professionally and personally,
I cannot speak highly enough of how gifted she is at her work. Her dedication,
integrity, wisdom, warmth and grace are the golden threads of her healing
arts. A shining gem of a human being through and through.”
I would love to hear from you.
